Nokia introduced the next gen wide screen Nokia Nsereies multimedia computer at the CES conference in Las Vegas recently in the form of the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet. Combining a truly personal Internet experience with easy wireless connections, the N800 possesses a high resolution display and support for a broad range of Internet applications. Built to be indispensable, the N800 enables the user to make Internet calls, instant messages and email to keep in touch with family and friends. Stereo audio and media support along with its new ergonomic design make the N800 a portable Internet entertainment device. Streamed or downloaded content is freely enjoyed anywhere and everywhere there is a wireless Internet connection. Following in the footsteps and success of the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet, the N800 features a full screen finger qwerty keyboard, easier continues connections through Wi-Fi or via Bluetooth phone, and integrated webcam. This Internet Tablet, like its predecessor, is also based on Nokia’s desktop Linux based OS. Thanks to the Maemo development platform, which was launched in 2005 to provide Open Source developers with tools and the chance to create applications for use on Nokia’s Internet tablets, Nokia N800 users will benefit from a wide range of third party applications. The N800 is now commercially available in the US as well as in select parts of Europe for an ERP of 399 Euro excluding local taxes and other fees.
